Garten's Music was originally established as a service center, repairing instruments all over the state of Kansas and parts of Oklahoma.

Harold Garten, our founder, began servicing electronic organs (then the only kind of electronic keyboard instruments available) in 1947. In 1974, the Hammond Organ Company appointed him as a Hammond Master Technician, one of only 8 in the United States. During the peak of the home organ era, Garten’s provided warranty service for 24 retail music stores across the state.

That service legacy remains with us today. Bill Kraske, who worked directly with Mr. Garten for ten years, still services non-portable electronic instruments in homes, churches, and schools. He has been servicing organs, digital pianos and other electronic keyboard instruments since 1979, and holds a degree in electronic music technology. Garten’s Music is the only store in Wichita with on-site service of this kind. (Other stores have to contract it out to out-of-town servicers.)

We provide warranty service for everything we sell. And we sell only instruments with good service reputations, so you can have confidence that your dream instrument will provide you with sweet music for years to come.
