Since 1947, when our founder Harold Garten began his career in the music business, we have had one underlying theme: service.

Some people narrowly define service as the repair of broken instruments.

We do not.

We believe that service includes the following:

  • Accurately representing the fine instruments we offer
  • Helping you select the instrument that best fits your needs
  • Offering creative financing such as year-long layaway and no-interest same-as-cash options
  • Making sure you are realizing as much of your instrument as you desire.
  • And, of course, repairing any problems should they occur later.

Meet the folks who help make that happen:
Company president, Cindy Houston (the late Mr. Garten's daughter) virtually grew up in the music business. As well as her years in the keyboard industry (encompassing manufacture, retail, and service), her credentials include six years of experience in banking and finance. She particularly enjoys coordinating the Lowrey organ class program. (Click on "Classes" at left for more details.)
Bill Kraske started his career in the music business in 1979 after graduating from Red Wing Technical Institute with a degree in electronic music technology. He spent 10 years working directly with Mr. Garten. Now in his third decade with Garten's Music, he is active in both sales and service. Because of his encyclopedic knowledge of the instrument, he has presented classes in Hammond organ repair to the Musical Instruments Technicians Association (International).
Michael Houston, a pastor's kid (PK), literally grew up around church music. He studied piano and organ for 12 years, and started playing for church services regularly in high school. He has been involved in several aspects of keyboard music, including manufacture, consultation, retail sales, music performance and worship music.
